I cannot be certain that Robert Coul & Jean Black are the parents of my ancestor Elspeth Coul and her brother Robert.

All I can say is that they were married at the right time and in the right place.

The main reason for the uncertainty is that both of the children's birth records in the IGI give only the father's name ie Robert Coul.
